Fall Things

It is officially fall. My favorite time of year. I have so many plans already. I went from screenshotting books to recipes. I am thrilled to start making soups, stews, pasta, bread, and sweets. Meal prepping is going to be candy land. I’m eyeing my crockpot, and making a list of “things to buy to make a good pot roast” and “lasagna soup recipes". It’s going to be glorious.

I’m also taking some Pilates classes before work. My favorite is focusing on the lower body, but a lot of classes I take, we seem to end up targeting the upper body. I guess that’s a good thing in the end. I also bought a jump rope. People online make it look so fun.

I’m on chapter 38 of The Calamity Club. I like it so far. I love Virginia and Birdie’s conversation. I like those types of characters. (Virginia) Not quite primary, but when they’re featured in the story, they make a small part incredibly impactful.

I wanted to wait until October to read The Only One Left, and other books I saved for spooky season. I also want to reread Dracula. Of course, I have been made aware of the audiobook featuring Jonathan Bailey. I now have to indulge in that as well. *Screams “WHAT DID MEN DO TO DESERVE HIM?!” into the void*

I decided to sign up to be a member of the ACFE. I have to wait until I’m eligible to sit for the CFE exam, but I am excitingly getting ready for it. This semester my classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays with an asynchronous online one mixed in there. I’m taking advantage of a Pell grant this semester to help supplement the financial blow of having to move up my classes so I don’t have to wait an entire year to only take my last few classes. My employer cut summer tuition benefits. Which is a blessing in disguise because now I don’t have to wait longer to sit for the CFE exam. (You need a bachelors to sit for the exam)

I’m also learning Python. I’m at the intermediate level. Learned about Matplotlib, now learning about dictionaries, and pandas.

I also found a good comfort show. The Nanny. I know I’m about 30 years late to the game. I was somewhat familiar with the show, but never saw a full episode. I’m on season 3 now. I love Niles.
